The Kawasaki EX500 Ninja, also known as the GPz 500S, was a motorcycle produced from 1996-97. It had a four stroke, parallel twin cylinder engine with a capacity of 498cc and a compression ratio of 10.8:1. The engine was cooled by liquid and had a wet sump lubrication system. It had a maximum power output of 60 horsepower at 9800 rpm and a maximum torque of 46.1 Nm at 8500 rpm. The transmission was six speed and the final drive was through a chain.
The bike had a double cradle iron frame, with 38mm telescopic forks at the front and a swinging arm single shock adjustable for spring preload at the rear. The front brake was a single 270mm disc with a 2 piston caliper, and the rear brake was a single disc. The bike had a trail of 91mm and a rake of 63 degrees. The dimensions of the bike were 2095mm in length, 700mm in width, and 1160mm in height. It had a wheelbase of 1435mm and a seat height of 775mm. The dry weight of the bike was 176kg, and it had a fuel capacity of 15.9 litres.
