Kawasaki EN500 Valcan (1992-93)

The Kawasaki EN 500 Vulcan (or VN 500) was a motorcycle produced from 1992-1993. It had a four stroke, parallel twin cylinder, DOHC engine with 498cc capacity and a liquid cooling system, along with a 10.2:1 compression ratio and wet sump lubrication. The induction utilized 2x Keihin CVK34 carburetors and ignition was via coil. The motorcycle had a max power of 60 hp at 9800 rpm (with rear tire at 54.2 hp) and a max torque of 46 Nm at 8500 rpm. The EN 500 also had a wet plate clutch and 6-speed transmission with a final drive via belt. The front suspension was comprised of 36mm telescopic forks, while the rear utilized dual shocks that were preload adjustable. Brakes included a single 300mm disc in the front and a 180mm drum in the rear, with front and rear tire sizes of 100/90-19 and 140/90-15 respectively. The dry weight of the EN 500 was 186.0 kg (410.1 lbs), with a wet weight of 169 kg (372.5 lbs) and an 11-liter fuel capacity (equivalent to 2.9 US gallons).
