Honda XR250R (1996)

The Honda XR 250R is a 1996 off-road motorcycle with a four-stroke, single-cylinder SOHC engine and a capacity of 249cc. It has air-cooled cooling system and a compression ratio of 10.2:1. Starting is by kick, and the maximum power output is 30 horsepower at 9000 rpm with a maximum torque of 24.5 Nm at 7500 rpm.

The transmission has six speeds, and the final drive is through a chain. The suspension on the front wheel is 41 mm air-assisted telescopic forks with a front wheel travel of 280 mm, while the rear suspension is Pro-Link, adjustable compression, and rebound with a rear wheel travel of 280 mm.

The front brake is a single 240 mm disc two-piston caliper, and the rear brake is a single 220 mm disc one-piston caliper. The front tire is 80/100-21, and the rear tire is 100/100-18. The rake is 26.5 degrees, and the trail is 105 mm.

Dimensions of the bike are 2110 mm in length, 830 mm in width, and 1215 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1400 mm and a seat height of 920 mm. The ground clearance is 315 mm, and it has a dry weight of 104 kg. The fuel capacity of the bike is 9 litres.

According to a road test conducted in 1994 by Tuttomoto, the Honda XR 250R is an excellent bike for enduro use. It has a solid engine, is easy to ride, has great suspension, and is well balanced. However, it is criticized for its weak brakes and lack of electric starting.
