Honda VF1000F (1984)

The Honda VF1000F, also known as the US Interceptor, was a four-stroke motorcycle produced in 1984. The engine was a 90 degree V-four cylinder with dual overhead cams and four valves per cylinder, giving a capacity of 998cc. The bike was liquid-cooled, had a compression ratio of 10.5:1 and used a 4x 34mm CV type induction system with CDI ignition. The electric starting bike had a maximum power output of 122hp at 10,000rpm and max torque of 89.4Nm at 8000rpm, with a 5-speed transmission and a chain final drive. The bike had a front suspension of 41mm air adjustable forks with dual Syntallic bushings, 3-way adjustable rebound damping and TRAC, and a rear suspension of Pro-Link with 3-way adjustable rebound damping. The front and rear brakes had disc brakes, with 4 piston calipers at the front and 1 piston caliper at the rear. Both tyres had a V rating with sizes 120/80 V16 at the front and 140/80 V17 at the rear. The bike had a wheelbase of 1505mm, a seat height of 810mm, and ground clearance of 135mm. The dry weight of the bike was 238kg and the wet weight was 261kg, with a fuel capacity of 23 liters, and average fuel consumption of 36 mpg. The top speed reached 241.4 km/h (150mph) and was featured in a bike group test.
