The Honda CBR1000F was a sports touring motorcycle produced in 1987. It had a four-stroke, transverse four cylinder engine with a capacity of 998cc and 10.5:1 compression ratio. The bike was equipped with a CDI ignition system and had a maximum power of 132 hp at 9500 rpm and a maximum torque of 104 Nm at 8500 rpm. It featured a 6-speed transmission and was chain driven. The frame of the CBR1000F was constructed with steel and had a single cradle design. The front suspension was air assisted and ant-dive, while the rear suspension had a Pro-link monoshock with six-way preload and three-way rebound damping adjustment. The braking system consisted of 2x 296mm discs with 2 piston calipers at the front and a single 276mm disc with 2 piston caliper at the rear. The bike had a 28-degree rake and a 117mm trail. The wheelbase measured at 1505mm and the dry weight was 222kg. The fuel tank capacity was 21 litres and the average consumption was 15.6 km/l. The CBR1000F had a standing quarter-mile time of 11 seconds and a top speed of 258km/h (160.3mph). It was well received in its time and was part of a group test conducted by Motosprint in 1987.
