The Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade/ABS motorcycle was released in 2009 with a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder engine and 998cc capacity. The bike has liquid cooling and a wet sump lubrication system with synthetic, 10W/40 engine oil. The electronic fuel injection is controlled by PGM-DSFI 46mm throttle bore, and the ignition is computer-controlled digital transistorised with electronic advance. The bike has a six-speed transmission and a final drive with a #530 O-ring sealed chain. The frame is a diamond; aluminium composite twin-spar. The front suspension has a 43mm inverted HMAS cartridge-type telescopic fork with stepless preload, compression, and rebound adjustment, and the rear suspension is Unit Pro-Link with gas-charged HMAS damper featuring 10-step preload and stepless compression and rebound damping adjustment. The front brakes feature 2x 320mm discs with 4-piston calipers, and the rear brake has a single 220mm disc. The bike has a dry weight of 179kg and a fuel capacity of 17.7 liters/4.7 gallons. The 2009 model had a new motor with titanium valves and forged pistons, making a claimed 175bhp, and a chassis with monoblock brakes and a new stubby, side-mounted exhaust.
