Honda CB900C (1980)

The Honda CB 900 Custom motorcycle was released in 1980 and had a four stroke, transverse four cylinder engine with a capacity of 901cc. The bike had a compression ratio of 8.8:1 and was air-cooled with a wet sump lubrication system. Its 4x 32mm Keihin carburetors and inductive electronic ignition helped it produce 95 horsepower at 9000 rpm along with a maximum torque of 77 Nm at 8000 rpm. The bike had a five-speed transmission with air-cooled clutch and shaft final drive. In terms of suspension, the bike had 37mm air-assisted forks at the front and dual air-assisted shocks in the rear with a travel distance of 155mm and 97mm respectively. The front and rear brakes had 2x 280mm discs with 2 piston calipers and a single 297mm disc with 1 piston caliper respectively. The front tyre was 110/90-19 while the rear tyre was 130/90-16. The bike weighed 277kg with a fuel capacity of 16 litres and consumed fuel at an average of 41.2 mpg. The standing 1/4 mile time was 11.9 seconds with a top speed of 135 mph.
