Harley Davidson FLHTC Electra Glide Classic (1999-00)

The Harley Davidson FLHTC/I Electra Glide Classic was a motorcycle model produced from 1999 to 2000 with a four-stroke, 45 degree V-twin engine and twin cam 88 (R) vibration isolation-mount. The engine had a capacity of 1449 cc / 88.4 cu-in and valves were pushrod-operated overhead valves with hydraulic self-adjusting lifters, two valves per cylinder. The cooling system was air-cooled with a compression ratio of 8.9:1 and lubrication that was dry sump, internally mounted, crank driven gerotor pressure and dual scavenge pump with spin on 10~Anot pressurized oil filter. The bike had either carburetion 40 mm constant velocity with enrichener and accelerator pump or electronic sequential port fuel injection ESPFI for induction. The bike’s ignition was a single-fire, non-wasted, map-controlled spark ignition with an electric starting system. The bike had a maximum power of 67 hp / 48.8 kW @ 5200 rpm and a maximum torque of 116.6 Nm / 86 lb-ft @ 3500rpm. Its transmission was a 5-speed with a belt final drive and a wet 9-plate clutch.

The bike had a mild steel frame with square-section backbone and twin downtubes and a swing arm that was also made of mild steel with rectangular section. Its front suspension boasted a cartridge-style damping system, and the rear suspension was air-adjustable. The front brakes included 2x 292mm discs with 4-piston calipers while the rear brake had a single 292mm disc with a 4-piston caliper. Both the front and rear tires were MT90-16T. The bike’s rake was 26 degrees with a trail of 157.5 mm / 6.2 in. It had a length of 2497 mm / 98.3 in, a wheelbase of 1612.9 mm / 63.5 in, a seat height of 692 mm / 27.2 in, a gross vehicle weight rating of 571.6 kg / 1259 lbs, and a dry weight of 352 kg / 776 lb.
