The Gilera Northwest 600 was a motorcycle produced in 1991 with a four-stroke, single cylinder, DOHC engine and a capacity of 558 cc. With liquid cooling and a compression ratio of 10.5:1, the bike had a maximum power of 49.5 hp at 7250 rpm and a maximum torque of 51 Nm at 5500 rpm. It had a 5-speed transmission and used chain final drive. The front suspension comprised Morzocchi forks with 150mm wheel travel while the rear suspension used Boge shocks with variable preload and 150 mm wheel travel. The bike had front brakes with two 270mm discs with four-piston calipers and a single 240mm disc with two-piston caliper at the rear. It had front and rear tyres of size 120/60-17 and 160/60-17, respectively, and weighed 173 kg when wet. The bike had a fuel capacity of 12 litres and consumed an average of 17.5 km/lit. It had a braking distance of 13.1m at 60-0km/h and 37.32m at 100-0km/h, and a top speed of 170.9 km/h. Motosprint 1992 Performance Bike also provided a positive road test of the Gilera Northwest 600.
