Excelsior-Henderson “Super X” (1998-00)

The Excelsior-Henderson “Super X” motorcycle was produced for only three years, from 1998 to 2000, and was considered a modern take on classic American motorcycles. It was powered by a 1386cc four-stroke Vanguard V-twin engine, which produced 65 horsepower and 82 lb-ft of torque. The bike had a five-speed transmission, inverted front forks, and dual disc brakes. The Super X was available in several colors, including black, silver, and maroon.

Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the Super X did not sell as well as anticipated due to financial issues within the company. Excelsior-Henderson filed for bankruptcy in 2000, ending production of the Super X and all other models.

The motorcycle has since gained a cult following among enthusiasts due to its rarity and unique design features. Some Super X owners have even formed a club, organizing events and sharing knowledge about maintenance and customization of the bike.

Today, the Excelsior-Henderson brand has been revived by a new ownership group, who plan to release a modernized version of the Super X. The new model will reportedly feature an updated engine and modern technology, while still maintaining the classic American cruiser style of the original. Fans of the original Super X are eagerly anticipating its release.
