The Maico MD 250 was a motorcycle produced from 1971-1983. It was powered by a single cylinder, two-stroke SOHC engine with a capacity of 245cc and had a compression ratio of 11.7:1 or 12:1 depending on the model. It used a carburetor and had a S.E.E.S. exhaust system with a pointless ignition. The bike was available in different versions with different methods of starting- kick or push. The MD 250 Cup was the most powerful, boasting 37hp at 8600 rpm while the MD 250 and MD 250 WK offered 28hp at 7000 rpm. The transmission was 6-speed with a chain final drive, and the clutch was wet and cable operated. The motorcycle had a double-loop tubular frame and a Ceriani fork for front suspension and Girling shocks for rear suspension. The Maico Enduro 250 was a 1979 motorcycle with a powerful single cylinder, two stroke engine with a capacity of 247 cc and a compression ratio of 12:1. It utilized a pre-mix lubrication system and a Bing V54/II 36 mm fuel system. The Motoplat electronic ignition ensured smooth starting with a kick. The motorcycle had a wet, multi-disc clutch and a 5-speed transmission with chain final drive. The frame was a double loop backbone box Chrom Moly design with Maico hydraulic air assisted conventional fork, 38 mm front suspension with a travel of 255 mm, and swingarm rear suspension with Corte Cosso reservoir shocks and also a travel of 255 mm. The Maico Supermoto 380 motorcycle model was produced between 2003 and 2005. The Maico 490 Alpha E motorcycle was manufactured in 1982 and featured a single cylinder, two-stroke engine with a capacity of 488cc. It had a bore x stroke of 86.5 x 83 mm and was air-cooled with wet-sump lubrication. The recommended oil for this off-road bike was Bel-Ray MC3, and the oil capacity was 0.60 L/ 0.63 US quarts. The fuel system was a Bing V54 40 mm carburetor, with an upswept exhaust on the right side. It had a Bosch, pointless ignition system and was started by kick start. The clutch was a wet, multi-disc system with a 5-speed transmission and a chain final drive.
