BMW S 1000RR (2017)

The BMW S 1000RR (2017) is a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder motorcycle with a 999 cc engine capacity and a liquid cooling system. The compression ratio is 13.0:1 and the engine management system includes a closed-loop 3-way catalytic converter with electronically controlled interference pipe. The motorcycle has an electric starter and a 350 W alternator. It has a maximum power of 146 kW (199 hp) at 13,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 113 Nm at 10,500 rpm. The clutch is a multi-plate anti-hopping wet clutch, with a constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox and a chain final drive (17/45). The frame is an aluminium composite bridge frame, partially self-supporting engine. The front suspension is an upside-down telescopic fork (46 mm), and the rear suspension is an aluminium double-strut swingarm, both with compression and rebound damping adjustable. The braking system includes 2 x 320mm discs with 4 piston calipers in the front, and a single 220mm disc with a 1 piston caliper in the rear, with BMW Motorrad Race ABS (part-integral). The motorcycle has aluminium cast wheels with 120/70 ZR 17 front tyres and 180/55 ZR 17 rear tyres.
