BMW S 1000R (2017-18)

The BMW S 1000R motorcycle was manufactured in 2017-2018 with a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 999cc. It has a compression ratio of 12.0:1 and is fitted with electronic fuel injection, digital motor electronics BMS-KP induction, and a wet sump lubrication system. The bike has a maximum power output of 121 kW/165 hp at 11,000 rpm and a maximum torque output of 112 Nm/84 lb-ft at 9250 rpm. It also features a multiple-disc antihopping clutch, six-speed transmission, and a chain final drive. The chassis is an aluminum bridge frame, and the suspension is an adjustable upside-down fork and aluminum double-strut swingarm with electronic damping adjustment. The bike’s braking system consists of dual 320 mm discs and 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 220 mm disc and 1-piston caliper in the rear. An optional equipment BMW Motorrad Race ABS (partially integral, disengageable) is also available. The front and rear wheels are respectively sized at 3.50 x 17″ and 6.00 x 17″, with tire sizes of 120/70 ZR17 and 190/55 ZR17.
