BMW R51/2 (1950-51)

The BMW R51/2 was a motorcycle produced by BMW from 1950 to 1951, following the end of World War II. The R51/2 was the first BMW motorcycle to be produced after the war, and it featured many new design features to distinguish it from earlier models.

One of the key design changes was the new telescopic fork suspension, which offered greater comfort for riders. The R51/2 was also fitted with a redesigned frame and a new engine, which was a 494cc, air-cooled, twin-cylinder unit. This engine was capable of producing 24 horsepower and had a top speed of around 90 mph.

The R51/2 was also one of the first motorcycles to feature a rear swingarm suspension, which was a major improvement over the rigid frame designs of earlier models. Additionally, the R51/2 was equipped with a four-speed transmission and a single drum brake on the front wheel.
