BMW R42 (1926-28)

BMW R42, a vintage motorcycle model, was first introduced in 1926 by the renowned German automaker, BMW. With a top speed of 63 miles per hour, the R42 provided riders with a rugged and reliable machine, which could take them almost anywhere.

The R42 was powered by a 500cc, flat-twin engine with a four-speed transmission, delivering a peak power output of 14 horsepower. The bike featured a sturdy chassis that kept it stable and planted on the road, while its brakes were highly responsive, allowing riders to stop safely, even in the most challenging conditions.

One of the defining features of the R42 was its telescopic fork suspension system, which made the bike highly maneuverable, even on rough terrains. Additionally, this classic machine had a timeless design that incorporated various black and chrome accents, making it look like a work of art even when standing still.

The R42 quickly became a favorite among motorcyclists of its era, thanks to its impressive performance and reliability. It was also popular among law enforcement agencies, as it was both fast and durable.

Unfortunately, the R42 was only produced for a short period, from 1926 to 1928, due to the company’s transition from motorcycles to automobiles. Nevertheless, BMW R42 remains an iconic motorcycle model, admired by enthusiasts and collectors worldwide for its classic design and exceptional performance.
