BMW R1100S (1999-2000)

The BMW R1100S was a sport touring motorcycle produced by BMW between 1999 and 2000. It featured a boxer engine with a displacement of 1,085 cc and an output of 98 horsepower. The bike had a top speed of 131 mph and could accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.

The R1100S was released in response to the growing popularity of sport touring motorcycles, which were designed for long distance touring as well as fast, sporty riding. It was also intended to appeal to younger riders who were looking for a more youthful image.

One of the unique features of the R1100S was its Telelever front suspension system, which was designed to improve handling and stability. The bike also had a Paralever rear suspension system, which helped to reduce squatting during hard acceleration.

Other features of the R1100S included a six-speed transmission, dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc brake, and a full fairing with an adjustable windscreen. It also had a comfortable saddle with adjustable height, making it suitable for riders of different sizes.

Overall, the BMW R1100S was a highly regarded sport touring motorcycle that combined sporty performance with touring capabilities. While it was only produced for two years, it left a lasting impact on the industry and helped to shape the development of future BMW motorcycles.
