The BMW R 1100GS was a motorcycle produced in 1996 with a four-stroke, two-cylinder horizontally opposed Boxer engine with a capacity of 1084cc. It had a compression ratio of 10.3:1 and used a Bosch Motronic 2.2 with fuel cutoff when coasting for induction. The ignition was electronic MA 2.2 controlled by Bosch Motronic and the battery was 12V, 19 Amp. The front brakes were 2 x 297 mm discs with 3 piston calipers, and the rear brake was a single 250 mm disc with a 3 piston caliper. The bike had a fuel capacity of 24 liters/US 6.3 gal, a dry weight of 225 kg/496.0 lbs, and a top speed of 201.6 km/h/125.3 mph. Overall, the BMW R 1100GS was a powerful and efficient motorcycle with advanced technology and great performance.
