The BMW R11 was a motorcycle model produced by BMW from 1929 to 1934. It was the successor to the popular BMW R10 and featured many improvements.
One of the key changes was the introduction of a new 745cc engine, which was more powerful than its predecessor. It was capable of producing up to 28 horsepower and had a top speed of around 90 mph.
The R11 also featured a new frame design that improved handling and stability. This was achieved by lowering the frame and adding a girder fork to the front suspension. The rear suspension was also upgraded to a plunger type, which was more effective at absorbing shocks.
Other improvements included a new fuel tank design, which had a larger capacity than previous models. The R11 also had a more comfortable seat and a streamlined fairing that reduced wind resistance.
Despite these improvements, the R11 was ultimately overshadowed by the more popular BMW R12, which was introduced in 1935. The R12 featured a number of improvements over the R11, including a larger engine, better suspension, and improved brakes.
Today, the BMW R11 is considered a collector’s item and is highly sought after by motorcycle enthusiasts. It is known for its reliability, durability, and performance, and is admired for its classic design and unique features.
