BMW R100 CS (1979-80)

The BMW R100 CS motorcycle was produced by BMW from 1979 to 1980. It was based on the R100 RS, but with a single seat and a smaller fuel tank. The CS model was intended to be a sportier version of the R100 series, with a lower, more aggressive profile. The bike had a two-cylinder, four-stroke engine that generated 70 horsepower.

The R100 CS had a top speed of around 120 mph (193 km/h) and could go from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in 5 seconds. It had a five-speed transmission and was equipped with front and rear disc brakes. The suspension was adjustable, allowing riders to tune the bike for their weight and riding style.

One notable feature of the R100 CS was the fairing, which was designed to reduce wind drag and improve handling at high speeds. The bike also had a smaller headlight than its RS counterpart, which helped to further reduce drag.

Despite its sportier intentions, the R100 CS was still a comfortable touring bike, with a comfortable saddle and plenty of room for luggage. It was a popular choice among riders who wanted a bike that was fast and fun to ride, but also capable of long-distance touring.

Today, the BMW R100 CS is a popular vintage bike among collectors and enthusiasts. Its classic styling and reputation for reliability make it a sought-after model for anyone looking for a classic bike that still offers plenty of performance.
