The Ariel NH 350 Red Hunter motorcycle was produced from 1945 to 1959 and featured a four-stroke, single cylinder, overhead valve engine with a 346 cc capacity. It had a bore x stroke of 72 x 85 mm and was cooled by air. The compression ratio was 6.2:1, later increased to 7.5:1 in 1957. The exhaust was 1-into-1 and the carburetor provided the induction. The bike was powered by a magneto/flywheel ignition and kicked off a 6V battery. It provided a maximum power of 14.2 kW / 19.4 hp at 5800 rpm. The clutch was a dry, multiplate type and the transmission had four speeds. The final drive was chain and the gear ratios varied, depending on the sprocket, with a top speed of 117 km/h or 72.7 mph. The frame had a semi-double cradle and the front suspension featured a telescopic fork, while the rear suspension had plungers. Both front and rear brakes were drums. The wheels were made of steel with laced wire spokes and the front rim measured 3.00 x 20, while the rear rim was 3.25 x 19. The bike was 2180 mm or 85.8 in long, 640 mm or 25.2 in wide, and weighed 159 kg or 350.5 lbs dry. It had a fuel capacity of 11 L or 2.9 US gallons.
