The Ariel LH 200 Colt motorcycle was manufactured between 1954 and 1959. Powered by a four-stroke, single-cylinder, OHV, 2-valve engine with a capacity of 197cc, it boasted a compression ratio of 7.5:1 and a 1-into-1, chrome exhaust. The bike had a carburetor induction, battery/coil ignition, and a 6V battery. Kick start was the method for firing up the engine, which worked in tandem with a multiple dry plate clutch system and a four-speed transmission. The final drive was via a chain. The frame was a semi-double cradle design, which held up telescopic hydraulic fork front suspension and plungers on the rear. The wheels were made of steel with laced wire spokes, while the drum brakes were situated at the front and rear. The bike was 2,030mm long by 640mm wide, with a dry weight of 123 kg and a fuel capacity of 11L. It achieved an average fuel consumption of 3.5 L/100km and had a top speed of 100 km/h.
