The Ariel FH650 Huntsmaster (Solo) was a motorcycle produced from 1954-58. It had a four-stroke, twin, OHV engine with a capacity of 648 cc / 39.5 cu in and a compression ratio of either 6.5:1 or 7.5:1. The lubrication system was dry sump with a dual pump and the ignition was via a magneto. The transmission had four speeds and the final drive was via chain, 100 pitches. The frame was a swinging arm frame with front duplex down tubes and the front suspension was a telescopic fork with hydraulic control. The rear suspension included two flexible coil springs. The motorcycle had front and rear drum brakes and steel, laced wire-spoked wheels with a fuel capacity of 20.5 L / 5.4 US gal. It had a top speed of 161 km/h / 100 mph and average consumption of 5.1 L/100 km 19.5 km/l / 46 US mpg. The length was 2184 mm / 86 in and the width was 686 mm / 27 in. The wheelbase was 1422 mm / 56 in and the ground clearance was 140 mm / 5.5 in. The dry weight was 181 kg / 400 lbs and the seat height was 787 mm / 31 in.
