The Aprilia SXV 550 motorcycle was produced in 2006-07 and is a four-stroke, 77-degree V-twin engine with a capacity of 549cc. It has a compression ratio of 12.0:1 and is liquid-cooled with a dry sump and external oil tank. The engine management system controls ignition and fuel injection with a throttle body of approximately 38mm. The bike has cable-operated multi-plate wet clutch with a max power of 52.2 kW or 70 hp, 5-speed transmission and chain final drive. Its steel perimeter frame with alloy vertical members provides support for a front suspension of approximately 48mm upside-down fork with double adjustment and a rear suspension of box section aluminium swingarm with cast body, hydraulic monoshock with compression and rebound adjustment. The front and rear brakes are single discs of approximately 320 and 240mm, respectively. The SXV 550 has a front tyre size of 120/70 -17 and a rear tyre size of 180/55 -17.
