The Aprilia SXV 450 motorcycle was produced in 2006-07 with a four-stroke, 77 degree V-twin, SOHC engine of 449cc/27.4 cu in capacity, and a compression ratio of 12.5:1. It was liquid-cooled, and had a dry sump lubrication system with separate gearbox lubrication. The engine management system controlled ignition and fuel injection, and had an A38 mm throttle body with electronic ignition and an electric starter. The clutch was cable-operated with a multi-plate wet clutch, while the transmission had five speeds with a chain final drive. The frame was made of steel with alloy vertical members, and the suspension had an upside-down fork of ~A48 mm with double adjustment at the front, and a box section aluminum swingarm with a hydraulic monoshock with compression and rebound adjustment at the rear. The front and rear brakes had single discs with a 4-piston caliper and a 2-piston caliper respectively. The front and rear tires were 120/70-17 and 180/55-17 respectively. The Aprilia SXV 450 had a maximum power of 44.7 kW / 60 hp at 13000 rpm, and a gear ratio of 1st 13:30, 2nd 15:27, 3rd 16:23, 4th 20:23, and 5th 21:21.
