The 2012 Aprilia RSV-4 Aprilia Racing SBK motorcycle is powered by a 999cc, 4 longitudinal 65 degree V4 cylinder engine with a double overhead camshaft (DOHC) and a liquid cooling system. It has variable-height intake ducts that are controlled by the engine control unit, electronic injection with 8 injectors and the latest-generation Ride-by-Wire technology, and an Aprilia Racing ECU manages ignition, injection, variable-height intake duct control, Ride by Wire system and traction control. The 4 into 2 into 1 layout exhaust system has a single oxygen sensor, lateral single silencer with engine control unit-controlled butterfly valve, and an integrated trivalent catalytic converter (Euro 3). There is a multiplate wet clutch with a slipper system and the bike delivers estimated maximum power of 220hp at 15,000 rpm. The chain final drive is connected to a six-speed transmission, and it has a flywheel mounted 420W alternator with rare earth magnets. It’s a lightweight bike that weighs just 165kg, with adjustable, aluminum dual-beam chassis that has pressed and cast sheet elements. The bike is equipped with ~Ahlins suspension and Brembo brakes.
