The Aprilia MX 125 was a single cylinder, two-stroke motorcycle produced between 2003 and 2006. It had a 124 cc engine with a bore x stroke of 54 x 54.5 mm and a compression ratio of 12.5:1. The bike was liquid-cooled, with a Dell Orto PHBH 28 RD carburettor for induction and electronic ignition with capacitive discharge. The maximum power output was 24.6 kW or 33 hp, with a maximum torque of 23.0 Nm or 2.3 kgf-m or 17 lb-ft. The bike had a six-speed transmission and final drive chain, with a multiple disk clutch in oil bath. The frame was a closed-cradle split at the level of the exhaust, made from high tensile tubular steel, and front suspension was an upside-down telescopic fork with a diameter of around 40 mm and 260 mm or 10.2 inches of travel. The rear suspension was an aluminium swinging fork with a rectangular cross-section, fitted on frictionless bushes, and a single hydraulic shock absorber with piggyback, providing 280 mm or 11.0 inches of travel. The front brakes were a single floating disc with a diameter of around 320 mm and a two-piston caliper, with the rear brakes being a single floating disc measuring around 220 mm and a caliper. The wheels were aluminium spoked wheels.
