Yamaha TX500 (1975-76)

The Yamaha TX 500 Sport motorcycle was produced from 1975-76 and featured an air-cooled, four-stroke parallel twin cylinder engine with a capacity of 498cc. It had a compression ratio of 9.8:1 and was equipped with a wet sump lubrication system along with 2x 38mm Mikuni carburetors and battery and coil ignition. The bike had a maximum power output of 48 hp at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 4.5 kgf-m at 6,500 rpm. The transmission was a 5-speed, and it had a final chain drive. The frame was a full cradle frame made of 100% circular steel pipes. The bike’s suspension consisted of telescopic fork front suspension and dual shock swing arm rear suspension, which was preload adjustable. The front and rear brakes were a single 267mm disc and drum, respectively. It had a seat height of 812 mm and a wet weight of 207.7 kg, with a fuel capacity of 12.8 liters. Overall, the Yamaha TX 500 was a high-performance sportbike designed for speed and agile handling on the road.
