The Yamaha FZR400R was produced in 1984 and featured a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 399cc. The engine had DOHC and four valves per cylinder, and the bike had a liquid cooling system with a compression ratio of 11.5:1. The bike had 4x Mikuni BDST32 carburetors and a TCI digital ignition system, as well as an electric starter.
