The Yamaha FZX 250 Zeal was produced from 1991 to 1999 and had a four stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC, 4 valve per cylinder engine with a capacity of 249 cc. It had a liquid-cooled cooling system and a compression ratio of . The bike had a TCI digital ignition and could be started with electric power.
