Velocette LE MK1 (1948-50)

The Velocette LE MK1 motorcycle was produced from 1948-1950 and had a four stroke, flat twin cylinder engine with a capacity of 149cc. It had a specially designed Amal carburetor and a coil ignition with a 6V, 30W battery. The bike had a dry, single-plate clutch and a three-speed transmission with a shaft final drive. The frame was made of pressed steel and the bike had telescopic fork front suspension and dual coil springs and a spring-loaded seat rear suspension. The front and rear brakes were both 5 x 0.75 inch diameter offset drum brakes. The wheels were spoked and the front and rear tires were both 3.00 x 19 inches.
