The Moto Morini 9½ Concept motorcycle was created in 2005 and features a four-stroke, 87 degrees V longitudinal twin engine with DOHC and four valves per cylinder. The bike has a capacity of 998cc with a bore x stroke of 107 x 55.5 mm and is liquid-cooled with a compression ratio of 12.0:1. The bike also has a forced trochoidal pump lubrication system and Magneti Marelli indirect electronic injection with a 54mm throttle body. It features I.A.W. electronic ignition and has an electric start.

With a maximum power of 77.5 kW/105 hp at 9000 rpm and maximum torque of 98 Nm/10 kgf-m at 6200 rpm, the bike has a wet, multi-plate anti-hopping system clutch and a six-speed transmission with a final chain drive. The bike’s frame is made of ALS450 steel tubular trellis with varying diameters, and its front suspension includes 50mm Marzocchi upside-down forks with a 150mm/5.9-inch wheel travel.
