The Kawasaki GPX 250R, also known as the EX250 Ninja and ZZR 250, was produced for the 1996-97 model years. It has a four-stroke parallel twin engine with DOHC and four valves per cylinder, with a capacity of 248 cc. The cooling system is liquid-cooled and the compression ratio is 12.4:1. The bike features 2x Keihin CVK30 constant velocity, diaphragm-type induction and electronic advance ignition. It starts with an electric starter and has a maximum power of 45 hp at 11,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 24 Nm at 10,000 rpm. The clutch is a wet, multi-disc, manual, cable-actuated type, and the transmission has six speeds. The final drive is a chain.
