The Harley Davidson XR1000 motorcycle was introduced in 1984 with a four stroke, 45 degree V-Twin, OHV engine that had a capacity of 998cc. The bike had a compression ratio of 9.0:1, was air cooled and featured 2 valves per cylinder. It ran on a 2x 36mm Dell’Orto carburetor and had electronic ignition with electric starting. The maximum power of the bike was 70 hp at 5600 rpm and the maximum torque was 48 lb-ft at 4400 rpm. The transmission was a 4 speed with final drive on a chain.
