The Laverda 500 Alpino S was a motorcycle released in 1978. It had a four-stroke parallel twin cylinder engine, with a capacity of 497 cc and air cooling. It had a bore x stroke of 60 x 60 mm and a compression ratio of 8.0:1. The cooling system was air-cooled and it had a 22mm Dell’Orto carburetor for induction. The ignition was flywheel magneto and the battery was a 6V. The motorcycle had a kick start and a 4-speed transmission with the final drive being through a chain.

The frame was made of duplex tubular steel, with a Marzocchi telescopic fork for the front suspension and twin Marzocchi shocks for the rear suspension.
