The Ducati 888 SP5 motorcycle was produced in 1993 with a four-stroke, 90 degree L twin-cylinder, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder, belt-driven engine with a capacity of 888 cc / 54.2 cu in. The bike had a compression ratio of 11.2:1 and was liquid-cooled with Weber I.A.W. CPU P7 electronic fuel injection and 2 x 50mm throttle bodies. The ignition was inductive magnetically triggered, and the bike had a dry multi-plate clutch and a six-speed transmission.
