Yamaha YDS7 (1959-61)

The Yamaha YDS-1 was a motorcycle produced between 1959 and 1961. It had a two stroke, piston-port, parallel twin engine with a capacity of 247cc and a bore x stroke of 54 x 54mm. Cooling was air-cooled and the compression ratio was unspecified. Induction was via a single carburetor and starting was via kick. The motorcycle had a maximum power output of 18hp at 7500rpm and a maximum torque output of 5.2kgf-m at 6000rpm. Transmission was five speed and the final drive was via chain. Suspension was telescopic forks at the front and swing arm at the rear, while braking was via drum brakes at both the front and rear wheels.
