The Yamaha XV 1000 Virago was a motorcycle produced between 1984 and 1985. It had a four-stroke, 75-degree V-twin engine with a capacity of 981cc and a compression ratio of 8.3:1. The bike used two Hitachi carburetors with transistorized ignition and an electric starter. It could produce up to 64hp and 7.7 kgf-m of torque. The motorcycle had a five-speed transmission and came with a shaft for the final drive. The bike had a pressed steel spine type frame, with 38mm leading axle air-assisted forks for the front suspension and dual shock absorbers adjustable for spring preload providing 97mm of wheel travel for the rear.
