The Yamaha SR 500 motorcycle was produced from 1974 to 1975 and had a four-stroke, single-cylinder, SOHC, and 2 valves per cylinder engine with a capacity of 499cc or 30.4 cu-in. It had a compression ratio of 9.0:1 and was air-cooled with a 34mm Mikuni VM34SS carburetor and CDI ignition.
