Maico GP400 (1977-87)
The Maico GP400E was a single cylinder, two stroke motorcycle produced from 1977 to 1987 with a capacity of 354cc and a bore x stroke of 77 x76 mm. It had a compression ratio of 13.5:1, air cooling and a wet sump lubrication system, as well as a carburetor fuel system and a kick starting mechanism. The bike had a maximum power of 40 kW / 55 hp @ 8000 rpm and a wet weight of 106 kg / 234 lbs. The front suspension consisted of a telescopic fork with a steering damper, while the rear suspension featured twin shocks with coil spring. It had steel, laced wire spoke wheels with a front rim of 3.00 x 21 in and a rear rim of 4.10 x 18 in. The Maico GP400E came in three colours: red, yellow and black. It had a top speed of 100 km/h / 62 mph and received a review in Motorcycle Mechanics in 1977.
