The Honda CBR900RR Fireblade is equipped with a front suspension that has a 45mm Showa cartridge and adjustments for spring preload and rebound damping. The rear suspension is Pro-Link with one Showa damper and adjustments for spring preload, rebound damping, and compression damping. The bike has front brakes that are 2x 296 mm discs with 4-piston calipers and a rear brake that is a single 240 mm disc with 1-piston caliper.

Overall, the Fireblade’s capacity was increased to 918.5cc, the seating position was more relaxed, the chassis was beefed up, and the fairing was redesigned. The front mudguard was designed to reduce drag and was the same as the one on Honda’s NSR500 GP bike. Phillip McCallen won the 1996 and 1997 Production TTs on the Blade.
