Ducati ST4 (1997-98)
The Ducati ST4 was a sports-touring motorcycle produced by Ducati from 1997 to 2002. It featured a 916cc fuel-injected engine, producing 107 horsepower and 68 lb-ft of torque. The bike had a top speed of around 150 mph, with a 0-60 mph time of just under 3.5 seconds.
The ST4 was known for its comfortable riding position, making it ideal for longer journeys. The motorcycle had a trellis frame made of steel, along with Brembo brakes and Marzocchi front suspension. The bike weighed around 500 lbs, and had a fuel capacity of 5.3 gallons.
However, the ST4 did have some drawbacks. The fueling was known to be quite abrupt, which could make the bike difficult to ride smoothly at lower speeds. Additionally, the bike’s exhaust system tended to rust easily.
Overall, the Ducati ST4 was well-regarded as a capable sports-touring machine, offering a good balance of comfort and performance. Its combination of powerful engine and comfortable ride position made it a popular choice for long-distance touring. However, the bike’s fueling and exhaust issues needed to be addressed.
