Ducati 48/1 & 50/1 Brisk (48/1:1961-6650/1:1967)

The Ducati 48/1 & 50/1 Brisk motorcycles were produced from 1961-1966 and 1967 respectively. They were two-stroke, single cylinder piston port engines with a capacity of 47.6 cc/2.9 cu in and a bore x stroke of 38 x 42 mm. The compression ratio was 6.3:1 until 1963 when it increased to 7:1. Cooling was air-cooled and Dell’Orto T4 12D1 was used for induction. The ignition system was a 6V 18W flywheel magneto and comes with Marelli CW 225N spark plug. The motorcycles had a max power of 1.0 kW/1.34 hp@4200 rpm, but after 1963, it increased to 1.1 kW/1.5 hp@5200 rpm. It had a pressed steel frame, telescopic fork front suspension, and swingarm dual shocks rear suspension. The front and rear brakes were both drum brakes with a size of 90 mm while the front and rear wheels were 2.00 x 18. The dry weight of the motorcycle was 45 kg/99 lbs for the 48/1 and 50 kg/110 lbs for the 50/1. The top speed was 40 km/h/25 mph.
