The Ducati 1098 R Puma Limited Edition motorcycle was produced in 2009 with only 10 units made. It features a four-stroke, 90-degree L twin-cylinder, DOHC, desmodromic engine with a capacity of 1198 cc and a compression ratio of 12.8:1. The Marelli electronic fuel injection system and lightweight 2-1-2 exhaust system allow it to reach a maximum power of 180 hp at 9750 rpm and a maximum torque of 134 Nm at 7750 rpm. The dry multiplate clutch with hydraulic control slipper clutch and 6-speed transmission make for a smooth ride, with a straight cut gears primary drive ratio of 1.84:1. The tubular steel Trellis frame and fully adjustable suspension from Ohlins, with a front wheel travel of 120 mm and rear wheel travel of 127 mm, accommodates for various road conditions. The “GP Replica” 7-spoke forged light alloy wheels and Pirelli tires provide exceptional grip to the road. The front and rear brakes, with 2 x 330 mm discs and 4-piston calipers and a single 245 mm disc with 2-piston caliper, respectively, create rapid and responsive braking. The digital MotoGP derived instrument display provides essential information including speedometer, rev counter, lap times, air temp, coolant temp, fuel reserve trip, and oil pressure, as well as an immobilizer system and control of DTC and DDA. The bike can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 290 km/h.
