BMW R NineT Special Editon (2016)

The BMW R NineT Special Edition motorcycle was released in 2016 and features a four-stroke, two-cylinder horizontally opposed Boxer engine with two camshafts and four radially aligned valves per cylinder. The engine has a total capacity of 1170 cc and is air/oil cooled with a compression ratio of 12.0:1. The bike has a maximum power output of 81 kW or 110 hp at 7550 rpm and a maximum torque of 116 Nm at 6000 rpm. It has a single dry plate clutch and six-speed constant mesh transmission with shaft final drive. The frame is made up of a four-part concept with a front frame and three-part rear frame that houses the load-bearing engine-gearbox unit. The front suspension consists of upside-down telescopic forks with a 120 mm travel, while the rear suspension is a cast aluminium single swinging arm with BMW Motorrad Paralever and a 120 mm travel. Both the front and rear brakes are equipped with floating brake discs, with the front featuring 4 piston radial calipers and the rear with a 2 piston floating caliper. The motorcycle also features BMW Motorrad ABS and a fuel capacity of 17 litres with a reserve of 3 litres. The dry weight of the bike is 211 kg and seat height is 805 mm.
