The Benelli 304 motorcycle was produced from 1984 to 1988 and featured a four-stroke transverse four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 231.4cc. The engine had two valves per cylinder, a compression ratio of 10.5:1, and was air-cooled with four Dell’Orto PHBG 18 B carburetors. The ignition was coil, distributor and the starting was electric, with an optional kick start. The max power of the bike was 27.8 hp at 10500 rpm and max torque was 18.8 Nm at 9000 rpm. The transmission had five speeds with a chain final drive. The frame was an open tubular frame with a load-bearing engine and the suspension had hydraulic forks in the front with a 30 mm radius and a swinging arm with hydraulic shocks in the rear.
