Aprilia Tuono V4 R (2011)
The Aprilia Tuono V4 R (2011) is a four-stroke, longitudinal 65-degree V-four motorcycle with a capacity of 998.9 cc. The bike has an airbox with front dynamic air intakes, and four Weber-Marelli A48 mm throttle bodies with four injectors and the latest generation Ride-by-Wire engine management. It has a choice of three different engine maps selectable by the rider with the bike in motion: T (Track), S (Sport), R (Road). The ignition is a Magneti Marelli digital electronic ignition system integrated into the engine control system, with one spark plug per cylinder and “stick-coil” type coils electric. The motorcycle has a multi-plate wet clutch with a mechanical slipper system, and a six-speed transmission with a final drive ratio of 42:16. It has a front suspension Sachs upside-down fork with ~A43 mm stanchions and completely adjustable spring preload and hydraulic compression and rebound damping. The rear suspension is a double braced aluminum swingarm with a Sachs piggyback monoshock, completely adjustable spring preload and hydraulic compression and rebound damping, and APS progressive linkage. The front brakes consist of two ~A320 mm floating stainless steel discs with lightweight stainless steel rotor with six studs, Brembo radial calipers with four horizontally opposed ~A32 mm pistons, sintered pads, axial pump master cylinder and metal braided brake hoses, while the rear brakes have a single ~A220 mm diameter disc, Brembo floating caliper with two ~A32 mm isolated pistons, pump with integrated tank and metal braided hose. The motorcycle has a dry weight of 179 kg and a fuel capacity of 17 L. It has a top speed of 269.2 km/h and received positive reviews on MCNews.com.au.
