The Beta RR 400 Enduro was a motorcycle produced in 2009-10 with a four stroke, single cylinder, DOHC, 4 valve engine and a capacity of 398cc. It had a compression ratio of 12.4:1, forced lubrication with 2 oil pumps, and used 15W-50 engine oil. The cooling system was liquid cooled and it had a Keihin FCR-MX 39 induction, with a DC-CDI ignition without trembler and Kokusan type variable ignition timing. It had both electric and kick starting, a wet multi-plate clutch, and a 6-speed transmission. The final drive was by chain with gear ratios ranging from 12:31 to 28:24. The frame was made of molybdenum steel, with a double cradle split above the exhaust port. It had hydraulic USD fork front suspension, with a 45mm travel, and a monoshock with progressive compound lever rear suspension with a 290mm travel. The wheels were alloy with laced spokes, with a front wheel of 1.60 x 21 and rear wheel of 2.15 x 18. The front tire was a 90/90-21 and a rear tire of 140/80-18. The front and rear brakes had single discs with a 2 piston floating caliper and 1 piston floating caliper, respectively. The dimensions of the motorcycle were 2180mm in length, 807mm in width, and 1270mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1490mm, seat height of 940mm, ground clearance of 320mm, and a dry weight of 114kg. It had a fuel capacity of 8.5L with a fuel reserve of 1L. Reviewed by Jean Turner, Motorcycle USA.
