Bimota SB5 (1985)

The Bimota SB5 was a high-performance motorcycle produced in 1985 with only 158 units made. It was powered by a four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 1135 cc and a compression ratio of 9.7:1. The bike had a maximum power output of 85.8 kW / 115 hp @ 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 104 Nm / 10.6 kg-m / 76.7 lb-ft. @ 6500 rpm, with a top speed of 248 km/h / 154.1 mph. It featured a chrome molybdenum steel double closed cradle frame, Italia 40 mm front fork, and single central shock absorber rear suspension. Braking was provided by two 280mm discs on the front and a single 280mm disc on the rear, with a wet weight of 233 kg / 513.7 lbs. The Bimota SB5 was road tested by Motosprint in 1984 and was part of a Superbike Group Test in 1985.
